State Testing Begins

April 1st, 2017 by

State testing will begin this week. Middle school students will take the English-language arts test on Thursday, April 6 and Tuesday, April 11. The math test will be taken on Tuesday, April 18 and Thursday, April 20. Eighth grade students will also take the science test on Tuesday, April 25 and Thursday, April 27.

Students should get a good night’s sleep and eat breakfast everyday. Students are encouraged to enjoy the free breakfast provided in our school cafeteria. In order to earn test incentives offered at LMS, each student must meet specific requirements. Each student will need to bring two #2 pencils, a book to read, a CHARGED Chromebook, earbuds or headphones, and a calculator (math test only) to their designated test location each day. Each student must also spend at least the minimum of number of minutes actively working on the test (set by the teacher/intervention specialist who is proctoring their test). Behavior must be 100% appropriate, and cell phones/Smart watches must be turned off and left at home or in lockers on test days.

For each day that ALL of these requirements are met, the student will earn a ticket to be redeemed for an ice cream treat during lunch.
